lp-01 · music computer · concept · framework laptop 16 platform

A concept laptop for making music, worked through in CAD around the Framework Laptop 16 board and Expansion Bay: a display deck of clear keys over an OLED, swappable side modules, a 180° lid. Everything here is generated from one parametric model and checked against Framework's published geometry.

one platform, two bodies

The 18″ study moves nothing inside. The Framework board, battery and bay, the deck and its modules, the keyboard, dials and hinge pins stay where they are, so the 18″ can be a conversion kit rather than another laptop: a bigger chassis and lid that the same internals move into. The side modules are the same parts on both bodies; on the 18″ each takes a clip-on nose.

Orange is the 18″ kit, grey moves across, blue is Framework's bay. Below, the clip-on nose that lets one set of side modules fit both bodies. Both sizes side by side.
